Mission Statement

The Iranian Student Cultural & Aesthetic Organization (ISCAO) steadily works toward creating a united Persian community, on and off the UC Davis campus.

We, as a group of Iranian students, founded the organization because assimilation in a foreign land was leading to a loss of heritage.

The primary goal of ISCAO is to educate everyone, including ourselves, about the Persian culture, its practices, and its illustrious history.

With the cooperation of various student organizations and surrounding Persian communities, we hope to achieve our goal through the following activities:

    • Inviting guest lecturers to the UC Davis campus

    • Showing Iranian motion pictures & documentaries

    • Instituting Farsi classes

    • Producing cultural celebrations in honor of Persian holidays

WE hope that with our efforts, we may soon be witnesses to a flourishing community of Persians united in a quest for education and friendship.

Your inputs and suggestions are always welcome. You can contact us through email by visiting the Board Members section.

Please help us serve you better

We would love to hear from you. Please feel free to contact us by email to let us know how we can improve our programs. We encourage constructive criticism, so please feel free if you have any complaints or comments. We are here to serve the Iranian community. Your feedback is very important. Please be a part of this.

Ninos: I'm privileged to be your administrator, and I hope to accommodate everyone's needs and fulfill what YOU want from ISCAO. Hopefully in the coming year ISCAO can grow to be a happy family just like the group of kids eight years ago....but better! I want everyone to know they should feel free to come to me with any problems or issues they may have. Yours truly, your administrator. See you at the next ISCAO event

Dariush: I am privileged to be able to serve as your outreach coordinator for the next year and to be working with members of ISCAO who freely and willingly give their skills and time. As a board member, I want to strengthen our small community as a catalyst for knowledge and forum for exchange of information about our culture and heritage. All aspects of ISCAO are becoming increasingly important, as the Persian community meets current challenges and anticipates future ones. We want our events to be arranged in a way to interest all those attending. I am so pleased to see our web site come of age with the help of Kian. Over the next year we will be making many changes as a result of your direct comments on the arrangement of our events and our meetings. Proud to be an Iranian

Elnaz: ISCAO is my BABY...Lately people have been calling me "Mama ISCAO" and the name totally fits...I have been on the board for 4 years, and I will finally pass on the torch once I graduate this year with my BS in NPB...I might be back for med school though so watch out. I love each and every member on this board like they're my babies (I told you "Mama ISCAO" fits) and ISCAO will always have a special place in my heart....Here's to a GREAT year guys.

Bahar: What's up cuties!!!! I'm pretty much just a easygoing girl who loves to laugh it up with my friends and eat lots of chocolate! I'm trying to get some cool activities planned for you guys, like a movie night or a faleh ghahveh night, so stay tuned! This is my first and last year on the board, so if you really want to meet a cool girl you better hurry up and come say hello! Hope to see all of your awesome faces around! Take care and peace out!!!! P.S.: Napoleon Dynamite is FLIPPIN' SWEET J

Nasim: Being involved in ISCAO has really been a great experience for me. Although this is my first year at UC Davis, I have known about ISCAO and been a member since my senior year in high school. I always knew if I ever transferred to Davis I would want to be a member of the ISCAO board, and now that I am here I'm glad I am a part of this organization. I have met tons of new people through ISCAO's many events and had a blast doing the Norouz Show for the first time last year. I learned a lot about the school and the club from the previous board, and now, as a board member myself, I look forward to contributing my efforts in making this years ISCAO the best ever for all of its old and new members. Remember, we are here to represent you. We encourage your thoughts and ideas at any time, and hope to make ISCAO memorable for everyone.

Kian: Hey everyone, I'm de FOB of de club. I'm new to Davis, UC Davis, and ISCAO. I'm planning on making some changes to our club trying to improve the quality of the club. Yeah, you're looking at one of the most active board members. Also, I'm the webmaster of the club, so if you have any comments regarding the website please feel free to contact me. I'm down for skiing, cycling, tennis, water skiing, and any other activity that involves fun. I hope to see you all in person soon. Since we represent the Iranian culture, I filled the position to make frequent "intentional" FOBish grammar mistakes on the web to keep our page genuine. Enjoy exploring them. When I grow up I want to become a tooth doktor.
