Mission Statement

The Iranian Student Cultural & Aesthetic Organization (ISCAO) steadily works toward creating a united Persian community, on and off the UC Davis campus.

We, as a group of Iranian students, founded the organization because assimilation in a foreign land was leading to a loss of heritage.

The primary goal of ISCAO is to educate everyone, including ourselves, about the Persian culture, its practices, and its illustrious history.

With the cooperation of various student organizations and surrounding Persian communities, we hope to achieve our goal through the following activities:

o    Inviting guest lecturers to the UC Davis campus

o    Showing Iranian motion pictures & documentaries

o    Instituting Farsi classes

o    Producing cultural celebrations in honor of Persian holidays

We hope that with our efforts, we may soon be witnesses to a flourishing community of Persians united in a quest for education and friendship.

Your inputs and suggestions are always welcome. You can contact us through email by visiting the Board Members section.  Or you can contact the entire board by sending an email to iscaoboard@ucdavis.edu.

Please help us serve you better

We would love to hear from you. Please feel free to contact us by email to let us know how we can improve our programs. We encourage constructive criticism, so please feel free if you have any complaints or comments. We are here to serve the Iranian community. Your feedback is very important. Please be a part of this.

Nina:  Hey, salam, Wut’s up, and Chee ballast to everyone!!!!

This is Parastoo Nina Massoumi and I am the Community Service Director

for ISCAO. I’m a second year planning to major in International Relations

and minor in Spanish and African and African American Studies. I’m really

looking forward to helping the Davis community with community service

work by collaborating with other organizations that are working for

social justice causes. I’m hoping that my passion to build these

coalitions with the other communities represented at UCD will help us as

ISCAO in outreaching to a larger community in and outside of Davis.

Negeen: Hey Everyone! My name is Negeen Pejooh and this is my second year serving as ISCAO's acitivites coordinator. I am here to make sure that this year's social events are the best Davis has seen! Not only am I in charge of bringing you our annual Fall and Spring Formals and Ski Trip, but I have a few secret events in mind that will make this year unlike any other. My goal is to organize unforgettable parties that will have all of Davis buzzing. Events that will attract not only UC Davis Iranians, but Iranians from all over Sacramento and the Bay Area, as well as students from all other nationalities. I want Davis students to be able to gather and celebrate great times together in a fun and spirited environment, creating new friendships and unforgettable memories. I am extremely excited to begin coordinating these events, and I hope that you all are just as excited to attend and make them absolutely amazing!

Agha Roozbeh: Ba arzeh salam, Roozbeham! I’m going to be your Media Coordinator this year. I’ll mostly be working on the website. As you can see the website is pretty old fashioned right now, so hopefully I can make it look cooler! If any CS/CSE majors want to help me out to gain some experience in web designing, you’re more than welcome, just let me know. And for those of you who are not facebook fans, I will keep the website updated, so come check what’s up in ISCAO.
